News and Announcements

UPDATE FOR 2016 WALK DAY! 

 71 and  MOSTLY SUNNY at 10:00 a.m.

 76 and SUNNY by Noon 

MARION COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL is located at 160 Ridley Drive.  

FREE PARKING is available at the football field.  

All registered walkers must check-in at REGISTRATION to receive wristband.  All others must register at WALK-UP REGISTRATION to turn in fundraising money & receive wristband.

T-SHIRTS:  All walkers who raise $100 or more receive a FREE t-shirt at check-in.                         

TEAM SIGNS:  All teams who are registered on-line by NOON on Friday will receive a FREE team sign to carry.  The Team Captain should pick up the sign unless otherwise directed.  

CHAMPIONS CLUB:  All walkers who raise $500+ will receive a Champions Club medal and all walkers who raise $1000+ will also receive a Grand Champion medal.  

PROMISE FLOWER:  Be sure to stop by the Promise Flower tent and pick up your FREE Promise Flower.  The different colors actually do mean something!

                   BLUE – For persons WITH Alzheimer’s disease

                   PURPLE – For persons who have lost someone to Alzheimer’s disease

                   YELLOW – For CAREGIVERS of someone with Alzheimer’s disease

                   ORANGE – Anyone who supports the cause to END ALZ!

Pick up your FREE flower (one per person please!) and be ready to join in during the Opening Ceremony as we celebrate and honor those living with and lost to Alzheimer’s disease.

PICTURES!  Please take lots of pictures and share them on social media using the hashtags #ENDALZ and #Walk2EndAlz.  Let’s flood Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with our pics!!

OPENING CEREMONY:  Our opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m.   The walk will begin at approximately 10:20.

CLOSING CEREMONY: We will have our Closing Ceremony at then end of walk.  We will recognize all Champions Club members and top teams, as well as give away door prizes!  We will present trophies to our Top Family Team, our Top Corporate Team and our Top Three Individual Fundraisers based on total dollars turned in by the end of walk!



DOOR PRIZES!!  Be sure to fill out an Advocacy Card at our Program Tent and then stay for the Closing Ceremony to win one of our Door Prizes!  Must be present to win! 

PROMISE GARDEN:  Make sure to visit the Promise Garden and find your flower!  Take this home with you as a special remembrance of the 2016 WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S!
