News and Announcements

We are pleased to announce a matching gift fund for the 2016 Asheville Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Named in loving memory of the late Captain Ron Cree, the Capt. Ron Cree and Stonecipher Family Fund” established by Debra and Harry Stonecipher of Biltmore Forest, NC will match gifts made to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® between 8/15 and 9/30 up to a total donation of $50,000!

"When you have traveled the long Alzheimer’s journey with your loved one, and have experienced the suffering and loss that affects the entire family, you want to find a way to make a difference… to support ongoing research for prevention and a cure, to help those who are already on the journey, and to raise more public awareness among those who are yet to be affected” states Debra Stonecipher.  “We lost Capt. Ron, our loving dad and husband, last October, not long after we participated in the 2015 Asheville Walk to End Alzheimer’s. In Capt. Ron’s memory, it is our privilege, and our responsibility, to help support this year’s Walk, hoping we can encourage everyone to become aware and to become involved.   Please remember those who can’t. Please join us if you can." - Debra Stonecipher

We had a great fundriaser at Pack's Tavern on September 6th, raising more than $600 for the Walk! Did you come on the 6th and want your meal donation to help your team's fundraising efforts? Just mail or bring in your receipt to the Alzheimer's office and we will credit your team!
