A Night to Remember: An Adult Prom

Benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association

ROME, GA – Put a new battery in your swatch watch, dust off your jelly shoes, get the shoulder pads in; local organizers have announced “A Night to Remember: An Adult Prom” presented by Pruitt Health to benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Principal Zoe Jackson said, “We are excited to follow the sell-out event last year with our second annual event! The night will be filled with fun including DJs Robert Smyth and Shan McDougal who will take us all back to the 80s. We’ve added several new elements this year that will help us raise even more than the $13,000 raised last year.”

Vice-Principal Charisse Durham of Home Instead Senior Care is most excited about the Prom Court; she said, “The Prom Court this year features local celebrities who will be competing for Prom King and Queen through their fundraising efforts. They each have their own text to vote numbers and their totals will be streaming live at the event.”

The Prom Queen candidates are: City Commissioner Evie McNiece, County Commissioner Rhonda Wallace, Heart of the Community recipient Tonya Davis and former Realtor of the Year Jennifer Hillegas.

The Prom King candidates are: President of Georgia Highlands College, Dr. Don Green, Administrator of Polk Medical Center, Matt Gorman, Farmers Insurance Agency owner John Burnette and Phil Wilson of OTR who was the top fundraiser for the Rome Walk to End Alzheimer’s in 2015.

Tickets for A Night to Remember: An Adult Prom, a 1980’s themed, 21 and up event on May 7, 2016 at Forrest Place will be available March 15th through an online link on the Facebook event page and on the website. General admission tickets will be available for $50.00 for individuals. Sponsorships start at $250.

“Ultimately, this is a FUNraising event; attendees can expect the most low-pressure and high-fun prom ever.” continued Durham.

The prom is presented by Pruitt Health. Additional sponsors include OTR, Farmers Insurance, Homestead Hospice, Sorelle Salon & Spa, Coosa Valley Credit Union, WOW Wingery, Tendo Technologies, Home Instead Senior Care, The Cloud Shack, Coosa Valley Signs, Undercutters Lawn Care, BDD Consulting Services, Snazzy Rags, Renaissance Marquis, Merry Maids and Rome Radio Partners, LLC..
