News and Announcements

Thank you to all of our wonderful Walkers for your generous support of the Denver Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Sat. Sept., 17, 2016 at Denver City Park!  

We are gearing up for Walk day and want to make sure all of your questions are answered. Hopefully these notes will cover most questions and help make your Walk day a great experience! 


Check-in opens at 7:00 am.

If you have not registered by Thursday evening, please register at Check-in on Saturday morning.

You can turn any additional fundraising and pick up all of your incentive items at Check-in as well. 

You can also make an additional donation through our text to donate program.

 These funds may be applied to you team, or your personal fundraising efforts.

Please register all of your team members, this will help us to plan for next year :) 

Each registered participant is entitled to a Promise Garden Flower; your wristband is proof of registration and will enable our volunteers to quickly provide your choice of Promise flower.

Those individuals who have raised $100 or more qualify for a Walk to End Alzheimer’s t-shirt.

Coupons for earned t-shirts will be distributed at Check-in, and shirts may be picked up at the t-shirt tent.

Those individuals who have raised $500 or more are Champions!! Champions will receive a Walk t-shirt coupon, Champions Medal and access to our Champions Tent! Be sure to stop by our Champions tent and collect your special walk surprise day gift! 

Those individuals who have raised $1000 or more are Grand Champions!! Grand Champions will receive a Walk t-shirt coupon, Champions Medal, access to the Champions tent and a Grand Champion t-shirt. Be sure to stop by our Champions tent and collect your special walk surprise day gift!


 A limited number of VIP Parking passes are available to our Champions and Grand Champions on a first come first served basis. VIP parking is located at the Boathouse and the gated section of 22nd Street that runs on the north side of the Festival area.

Please note: Unused VIP parking spaces will be opened up for general parking at 8:00 am. If you have a VIP parking pass please plan to be parked by 8:00 am.

VIP Parking Pass is required for the designated areas.

 Please display (hang) this on your rear view mirror, clearly visible for our parking Volunteers. 

Our parking attendants will not have a list of names. Please arrive early for easy parking.   

Public Shuttles run continuously from Manual High School before, during and after walk. The shuttle conveniently drops off close to our festival area. Shuttles run from 7:00am to 11:15 am. 

Public Parking is also available at the Zoo surface lots, Museum garage, and neighborhood streets.

There will be overflow parking available at East High School after 8:00 am, as well. 


Care Community Parking:

We also have a special Close-in area designated for Care Community buses only.

If you are walking with seniors or younger family members, please designate a “meet up” place in case you get separated from your group. We would suggest one of the Team Meet up flags in the center of the festival area. They are Yellow, Blue, Orange or Purple.

If you need to report a misplaced person or item, please come to the Volunteer tent.

It will be cool in the morning and likely warmer in the afternoon, so we suggest dressing in layers.

Have your Team photo taken at the Team Photo Area. We also have a "Silly Selfie Station" with lots of fun props for silly photos as well

Kids joining you? Visit the Family Zone area!

Our "Ready, Set, GO" untimed Fun Run will begin at the Start Line at 8:00 am

Come HUNGRY!  We will have Benny’s famous breakfast burritos for the first 1000 people!

We will also have 10,000 cups of Noosa yoghurt, Cliff bars, fruit, bagels and Oogies popcorn!!

"Old's Cool Rock" will begin playing at 7:30am 

We will have our "Adirondacks for Alzheimer's Auction as a follow up to last years Benches for Brains...you gotta see these!!
