News and Announcements

We are very excited to say we have partnered with Mongomery Area Concil On Aging (MACOA).

They will be out at the walk on October 1st taking donations of cat and dog food. Details of the pet food drive are listed below.

MACOALogoColor (1).JPG

Pet Food Details:

· We collect bags of cat and dog food.

·After we collect the food, we separate and bag into smaller portions based on type and size of the pet.  This is a volunteer opportunity also to help package the pet food.

· We deliver pet food twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday with Meals on Wheels delivery.

· Need/Why: Our Meals on Wheels clients were giving their food to their pets because they didn’t have food for them.  This wasn’t good for the pets or the senior client who needed the nutrition. The program was started in 2014 and operates solely on donated pet food from the community.  We are grateful we haven’t had to purchase any pet food since the addition of the program. The need is ongoing as we try to keep the pet food stocked to get out to the clients.

· For many seniors, pets are their only companion and provide a sense of friendship and care.
