2015 Walk to End Alzheimer's
To our dedicated Team Captains, Sponsors and Walkers,
Otsiningo Park will undergo a multimillion dollar facelift this summer following Spediefest in August, closing the park for public use through the fall. Unfortunately for us, this means that our longtime Walk to End Alzheimer's home is unavailable this fall.
Our staff has searched every corner of Broome County for a suitable location that is large enough to host 800 walkers, is handicapped accessible, does not put walkers on a running track or city streets, and will not cost us thousands of dollars in rental or other fees. No park, school or college in the area met these qualifications in order for us to host an event in fall 2015. As a result, we have no other choice but to postpone the walk until spring 2016.
The 2015-16 Greater Binghamton Walk to End Alzheimer's will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at our longtime (newly renovated) home, Otsiningo Park. Registered walkers will automatically be transferred to next spring's event. Online fundraising will return on January 1, 2016. All funds raised online by credit card, as well as checks submitted by mail, will be transferred to the spring event and applied to the appropriate walker.
Moving our Binghamton Walk to End Alzheimer's to spring was not our first choice, however we believe it's the best choice given the circumstances as we continue on our quest to achieve a world without Alzheimer's.
Please do not hesitate to contact a member of our Walk team if you have any questions. They can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 607-785-7852.
Thank you for your continued support of the Alzheimer's Association and Walk to End Alzheimer's. We look forward to a great Spring walk in 2016!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
Together we've raised $8,330.33.
