Our Team Story
The 2nd annual Washburn Challenge! Join our team!
This is an event inspired by the Alzheimer's Assocation's month long awareness campaign and "The Longest Day" event -- a way to draw attention to Alzheimer's disease and specifically the unrelenting demands placed on the caregivers of those inflicted with this condition.
Join our team and help us reach our goal of raising $15,000! Donations to the Alzheimer's Association provide care and support to all those facing this horrible disease, as well as advance research to one day having the first survivor.
The day starts at 9am at Menauhant Beach for a 17 mile bike ride along Vineyard Sound that follows the Falmouth Road Race course to Nobska Light in Woods Hole, and then back to Menauhaunt Beach. 17 miles total!
Head back to the house to refresh and get ready for a 12:00-1:00 launch in kayaks around Washburn's Island -- a State Park in the middle of Waquoit Bay -- and then back to the house. It's a 6-7 mile paddle depending on the course we take!
Then we'll enjoy a cookout back at the house with live music by "Unclaimed Freight"!
Please join us for a fun day, raising awareness and giving back.
