is participating to honor:
I'm participating in The Longest Day, a team event to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association. It is held on the summer solstice, from sunrise to sunset symbolizing the challenging journey of those living with the disease and their caregivers. I am honoring my father-in-law, John Colombara, who had Alzheimer's and my husband, Gino, who was his caregiver. For both of them, every day was the longest day.
As part of our Climb for a Cure team, I will be hiking to the summit of Mt. Rogers, VA (5728 ft.) on Saturday, April 7, 2018. I will be climbing for a cure and to make a difference!
Everyday those living with Alzheimer's and their families climb mountains we can't imagine. We are climbing for them. Please consider climbing with us and donating at any level you desire:
Mountain Level - Amount $300 ($60/1000 ft.)
Peak Level - Amount $150 ($30/1000 ft.)
Appalachian Level - Amount $100 ($20/1000 ft.)
Trailblazer Level - Amount $50 ($10/1000 ft.)
This event honors the strength, passion, and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's disease. Gino and I believe if we all work together, we can illuminate the darkness of Alzheimer's. Shine your ray of light on The Longest Day, so that one day we will live in a world without Alzheimer's.
