is participating to honor:
all those facing Alzheimer's
I am down to the last several hundred miles toward my 24,901-mile tour around the world on an Expresso stationary bike at Health Unlimited in Mount Airy, Maryland. On June 21 at 11 am at the club, I will ride the last mile and cross the finish line. (I'm currently 37th all-time on Expresso bikes out of 33,000 riders!) As I near the end of this journey, I am sincerely grateful to my supporters who have brought me so close to my fundraising goal.
In 2015 I had an accident which left me with a boot on my foot, and the only aerobic exercise I could do was riding a stationary bike. After several months of this, I decided to see if I could take a virtual tour around the world.
As the miles started to mount, I thought to use this effort for an important cause. My wife and I have lost several family members to Alzheimer's disease. The Longest Day is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and funds to help make a difference.
Unlike the journey through Alzheimer's disease, the course I take is totally flat. There are no hills and I have had no problems traversing mountains, oceans, rivers or lakes. Your help in raising funds for the Alzheimer's Association will help smooth the way for others as they make their way through this challenging, terrible disease.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
