is participating to honor:
Alejandro C. Cavazos
On June 21, 2018 I'm participating in The Longest Day, an event to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's disease. Cavazos Music, in conjunction with The Longest Day will be presenting a 'Concert of Hope'. This event will take place at Sam Ash Music, 25 NE Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78216. Time TBA. Freedom Praise Band (FPB) from Freedom Chapel, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX will be playing songs of hope and love.
Today, over 35 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia. And these numbers will only continue to rise unless we take action.
My father, Alejandro C. Cavazos was diagnosed in 1999 and passed away from complications due to Alzheimer's in 2009. My family and I witnessed first hand the effects and struggles of the Alzheimer's patient as well as the pain and devastation suffered by loved ones. It is these horrible memories that continues to drive me to wipe this dreadful disease into oblivion.
Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease they are not alone. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research and provide care and support to those facing the disease today.
