In 1989, Steve and Karen Fennington relocated to Libertytown from Montgomery County. They raised three amazing kids, two sons and a daughter, and have now been promoted to “Nana and Pops” by virtue of having four beautiful grandchildren.
Karen and Steve work locally for two different banking companies, Sandy Spring Bank and Frederick County Bank, respectively. They enjoy the opportunities afforded in their roles as bank representatives. In their spare time they enjoy their walkabouts in downtown Frederick and they look forward to annual beach vacations when they can be together with their family.
After becoming empty nesters about three years ago, Steve wished to find a new endeavor in which to have fun with Karen. Lo and behold, Donna Kraft entered into the picture. Donna has a deep, personal passion for finding a solution to this debilitating disease called Alzheimer’s. Donna shared her story and suggested they consider this fun and rewarding event titled Memory Ball – Dancing Stars. After learning about Donna’s personal experience with this disease and knowing others who struggle with this hardship daily, Steve and Karen felt compelled to participate as dancers and ambassadors for the Alzheimer’s Association.
