Fundraising Honor Roll

Ashley Clayton was born and raised in the Hilton Heights area of Columbus, Georgia. She, along with her family, attended St. Luke United Methodist Church. Ashley is married to Mark Clayton, who is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. Mark moved to Columbus in 1990 to pursue the ownership of a Mercedes-Benz dealership. They have been happily married for four years and are the proud pet parents of their two-year-old Pomeranian, Duke.

Ashley is involved in several aspects of the dealership - anything from marketing and customer relations to planning charity events. But her real passion is community service. Because Mercedes-Benz of Columbus has the same passion, Ashley has been able to give back to the community and spends many of her hours raising funds for various charitable organizations in Columbus and the surrounding areas.

In her free time, Ashley volunteers at Respite Care of St. Luke.  She was introduced to this ministry by her mother and grandmother, and now, three generations share their time together there. You will find Ashley at Respite Care every Tuesday, working with people personally affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Through her many volunteer hours at Respite Care, Ashley has developed relationships with the participants, and many of them have become like family. For over 18 years, St. Luke Respite Care Ministry has helped meet the social needs of older adults and their caregivers. Trained staff and volunteers provide a variety of activities that are fun and stimulating while caregivers receive emotional support and much needed time for themselves. Ashley has seen the struggles of the families and caregivers, and has become passionate about raising funds to find a cure.

Although Ashley doesn’t have any formal dance experience, she looks forward to working with her dance partner and putting on a good show. And even though Ashley has not been personally affected by Alzheimer’s disease, she understands the struggles and needs of families who have been affected through her volunteer experiences at Respite Care.  Ashley will be dancing to honor all the participants and their families at St. Luke Respite Care Ministry.
