Thank you for visiting my page! I am honored and excited to be a part of the Dancing Stars cast this year. I am participating after some gentle nudging by friends and family. Everyone who knows me, knows I love to dance and I am looking forward to a fun event this spring. Alzheimer’s disease touches so many families. My Aunt Jane (Tita) Hatcher had a brief but difficult struggle with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease before succumbing to it in 2016. In addition, my husband's grandmother ( Theresa Knight Dismuke) and grandfather (Thomas Moss) also suffered with Alzheimer's. Presently, there are more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's and every 66 seconds someone is diagnosed. Awareness and fundraising are key in finding a cure and I hope my participation can do both.
My dancing experience goes back to classes with Patty Taylor growing up. Then I turned to sports as a student at Brookstone school. Today, I still I enjoy dabbling around in dance. You may have seen me in the kick-line or with my tap shoes in the Junior League Follies. I participated in that event at least five times. When I am not dancing, I am on the sidelines supporting my children with their sports or I am promoting tennis through CORTA.
Here is where I need your help. This is a FUNdraiser and I am asking for your support. All your donations will support research and those affected by the disease. I hope this year’s cast raises a record breaking amount. This may be a competition (vote for me!), but we are all in this together reaching for a common goal. So please give generously….Let’s do this!
