Welcome to my page! I am a physician specializing in Nephrology. Everyday I encounter the heartbreaking reality of Alzheimers. Whether it be by observing patients or those one comes across in their daily lives.
One may ask, how can Alzheimers, and the research of Alzheimers, concern me? Alzheimers is a very common disease that currently affects more than 5 million Americans. That number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Due to the growing nature of the disease, research for Alzheimers is of utmost importance and urgency.
I was born and raised in Jaipur, India. In my early 20s, I migrated to the United States to start my residency in St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. Subsequently, I traveled to Richmond, Virginia to do my fellowship at VCU. Finally, I have been practicing in Renal Associates LLC,Columbus, GA for the last 15 years.
I am married to Bharti Chauhan. She is currently working as a pharmacist at Peidmont Columbus Regional Hospital. Additionally, I have a 19 year old daughter Mallika Chauhanat Georgia Tech and a 16 year old son Arya Chauhanwho attends Columbus High School. My mother Madhu Chauhan lives with us and she is a pillar of strength for our family.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
