Fundraising Honor Roll

I am originally from Fort Worth, Texas. I attended Texas Tech University and then Nashville School of Design where I studied architecture, interior design and studio art. I married Jay McGrory and began traveling around the country, living in Rochester, MN, Nashville, TN, Jacksonville, FL, Scottsdale, AZ, back to Texas and finally landing in Columbus, GA. We have 3 children, Nick, Jack and Morgan. I also have a few four legged children, Dallas, Hugo, Lexi and Calypso. I have worked for various Architecture firms and have dabbled in freelance design work as well. My latest projects have been stage designing, building and painting for Brookstone School plays and musicals. I also enjoy painting, drawing, gardening, animal rescue, theater, music, traveling, etc..

I started dancing in high school on our Drill Team. I have always enjoyed music, concerts and dancing. I do not have any professional instruction, but enjoy it anyway.

My grandfather suffered from some dementia and a debilitating strong. I remember watching my once larger than life Grandfather crumble away little by little. There was very little being done in those days, and he was just kept at home, in bed and mostly cared for my nurses and family.

I feel like the research the Alzheimer’s Association has brought about is making a huge impact on outcomes for this disease I feel honored to be able to help give back.

I was hesitant to participate in Dancing Stars because I am a little scared to be on stage, but I know that life is short and if this opportunity has come my way, then it must be what God intended. I have always felt called to help charitable organizations raise money and awareness for those who depend on them.

I hope that my friends, family and coworkers will come out and support the Alzheimer’s Association by voting for me and helping me reach my goal of $10,000. Maybe together we can solve this mysterious disease process and bring brighter futures for us all.
