I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri (The Show Me State), and have also spent time growing up in northern California (The Bay Area). I have lived in Georgia for more than 20 years now consider myself a "Georgia Peach". I am “Mom” to a 15-year-old high school freshman who eats, sleeps and drinks basketball….so, consequently I too eat and sleep in basketball gyms traveling to his high school and AAU games. We enjoy watching sports together (I am a die-hard Atlanta Falcons/Kansas Chiefs fan) but he adamantly refuses to show me how to use Snapchat.
A proud “Mercer Bear,” I graduated from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia, and began my legal career practicing law in Columbus. In 2016 I joined an amazing law firm, Page, Scranton, Sprouse, Tucker & Ford, P.C. as a part of its dynamic litigation team. Prior to joining Page, Scranton, I was a litigation partner at Hatcher, Stubbs, Land, Hollis and Rothschild, LLP. and before that worked as a criminal prosecutor for 14 years in Columbus, Albany and Tifton. I have absolutely enjoyed a career spent helping people solve their problems, resolve disputes, vindicating their rights and vigorously looking out for their personal, property and business interests. Walking people through a complex legal system in a way that makes them feel at ease knowing that someone is zealously advocating for them is what I do best.
In addition to having a career that I love, I am also committed to being involved in the local community. I serve on a number of boards for causes that are near and dear to me. They include: The Delta Life Development Foundation; The Muscogee County Library Board; Columbus Crime Prevention Board; The American Red Cross; The Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, The Columbus Scholars Program and the 4th Street Baptist Church Daycare Board. I am also a proud graduate of the 2017 Class of Leadership Georgia (the BEST class EVER)! I am a member of Friendship Baptist Church and serve on the Trustee Board.
My only dance experience is what I acquired from taking dance lessons at 3 or 4 years old. I am anxious to see how much “dance experience” I’ve gained from all of the Dancing with the Stars episodes I’ve watched over the years.
Although Alzheimer’s has not directly impacted my loved ones, it has impacted the loved ones of many people I know, including friends, co-workers and church members. I have heard first-hand the pain and difficulties faced by adult children struggling to care for a parent/grandparent suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia.
There is still so much we don’t know about the cause or a cure. The number of people diagnosed daily is staggering. I am honored that the Alheimer's Association has asked me to help raise money for such a worthy cause am committed to doing even the smallest part to bring awareness to this devastating disease. Please support me as I dance my heart out for one night, for one great cause, for hope. Let’s dance together to fight Alzheimer’s Disease.
