My name is Jason Clark, I was born, raised and currently live in Dalton Ga. My mother and father moved our family here before I was born in 1970 to make Dalton Ga our home. Through the years this community has helped to raise me and be there for my family. I met my beatiful and loving wife Mallory Clark from Dalton and we are very proud to say Dalton Ga is our home and we could not imagine living anywhere else.
I am very excited and yet sad to be participating in this year's Dancing Stars of Dalton 2018 to help raise money and awareness for this horrible disease. I lost my two favorite people in this world and role models to Alzheimers. One as a care giver, my mother who lost her life on 09/07/2014 and then my father who was diagnosed and afflicted with Dementia in 2010. From 2010 until 2018 we watched as my father became a shell of himself, no memory of an amazing life, no memory of an amazing family, no memory of friendships, relationships and bonds created over a lifetime. Alzheimer's took my father's life on July 1 2017. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
So many people in our community have either had Alzheimer's or have been a family member, a friend, a care giver and a loved one to someone who has or had this horrible disease. So I am dancing in the memory of my mother and father, every person afflicted, every family member, every friend, every Alzheimer's facility, every doctor and every person who has walked this path. If you have been diagnosed with this disease, or are a family member, a friend, or a care giver you are not alone. Please, please do not walk this path by yourself, it will wear you down! Please call the Alzheimers Chapter here in Dalton, or call me 706-271-6414 and ask for the help this community gave to me. I apologize if the above is all over the place, but this truly affects my heart every time I try to finish or make a change.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO THIS COMMUNITY, DALTON CHAPTER - ALZHEIMERS, FAMILY FRIENDS, LOVED ONES, STRANGERS, MALLORY CLARK, CHRIS BARRETT, TRANQUILITY AND ALL MY FRIENDS FOR BEING THERE FOR ME IN MY TIME OF NEED! GOD BLESS!!!
