I am so honored and thrilled to be a part of this year’s Dancing Stars of Coastal Georgia fundraising event for the Alzheimer’s Association! Throughout my journey I have asked people, “Do you know anyone who has been affected by Alzheimer’s disease?” and the answer is always yes. Unfortunately, this is a nasty disease that affects many. This hits home for me because my grandfather Paul Barton, who meant the world to me and a close neighbor Mary Margarette were both were affected by Alzheimer’s disease. I have seen firsthand what this disease can do, and it is my mission to help those raise money and awareness.
It is tough for not only the person diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, but for family, friends and caretakers of those affected. The Alzheimer’s Association of Coastal Georgia raises money for research for prevention, helps educate people on how to handle a diagnosis, and working toward a cure for this terrible disease. We are raising money that will stay local to help people in our community who have been affected. I am proud to stand with this organization and raise money to help end Alzheimer’s. It’s not too late to vote! Please vote and donate to this amazing cause!
