Julian grew up with 4 siblings, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  His family had very little growing up and they struggled with having the basic necessities of life.   His mother was always his source of strength growing up and she gave him love in abundance.  She instilled in him the value of hard work and taught him to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  Julian lost his brother to cancer in 2016. This was a very emotional time for him and his family. He was very close to his brother but this experience taught him to live every day like it’s your last, love and appreciate the people in your life because tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. It taught him to be thankful of the little things and never take life for granted. This is why Julian believes in giving back to the community and those less fortunate than himself.  He knows what it’s like to have nothing but was blessed with some amazing people in his life that molded him in the man he is today. As his mother always told him once you have life you can do anything, you are the creator of your future and only you can make you truly happy. These are words he lives by daily.

Julian was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. At the age of 18 he moved to New York City and obtained a bachelors degree in science from SUNY Brockport. He worked full time to put himself through school by obtaining a job in the retail cosmetics industry.  This is where Julian’s natural artistic talents began to show.  Julian Reynolds is now a renowned makeup artist with over 20 years experience in the retail cosmetics industry. He has worked with major retail stores such as Saks 5th Avenue, Bloomingdales, Lard & Taylor, Neiman Marcus and Macy’s. Julian has worked as a makeup artist on movies, TV shows, print ads, and fashion shows as well as with numberous celebrities and high profile clients. Julian last position in New York City was with L’OREAL Paris, there he worked for 5 years over the Kiehls division.

Julian resigned from his position with L’OREAL in 2009 and move to Mexico for a year. This experience was life changing and a very special time for him. It gave a new appreciation for life and how blessed he was to have the opportunities he had living in the United States. Upon returning to the United States, Julian moved to Atlanta in 2010 where he met his partner of 8 years and together they opened Julian’s Cosmetics + Skincare in 2013.  Since living in Atlanta, some of Julian’s accomplishments include being a manager for Nordstrom, working on PLA Beauty’s Cosmetic 2012 Spring Color Campaign, his work appearing in several magazines including Jezebel, Best Self, and The Atlantan and he has done the cover for Simply Buckhead 7 times. In 2014, he was named best makeup artist in Atlanta and 2016 he made it to the cover of Simply Buckhead, “rising stars” issue. Julian has also been featured in David magazine, The Spa magazine, Simply Buckhead, The Atlantan and Best Self. He has worked as a guest trainer for Oscar Blandi hair care line and he has traveled abroad with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics as their international makeup artist.
