Lindy Dorminy Bengston grew up in Tifton, GA, attended Florida State University on a swimming scholarship and owned a very successful upscale bridal boutique in the Tampa Bay for 12 years. She is married to Dustin Benston and has twin boys Beau and JD (13) and a daughter Leighellyn (9).
After selling her bridal business, Lindy knew she wanted to be in real estate, and she knew she wanted to move back to her hometown of Tifton to be closer to her family and raise her children in the small town she loved.
Lindy has found that she has an incredible passion for the real estate business and enjoys working for Century 21 Smith Branch and Pope, the premier real estate company in Tifton. Her vast knowledge of her hometown neighborhoods, businesses, and rural properties in Tift and surrounding counties make her one of the top experts at selling land, residential and commercial properties.
In addition to selling real estate, Lindy coaches competitive swimming alongside her husband on the year round USA club team he started in Tifton. The Tiftarea Tidal Wave swim team has grown from 13 year round member to over 100 year round members in just 4 years. Last summer they initiated a Masters swimming program for adults as well. Lindy and Dustin are both truly devoted to their team where they believe they are not only helping to create healthier lifestyles in the commuity, but to instill core values in children and teens through the sport of swimming.
Lindy is active on the Tiftarea Board of Realtors as well as the Exchange Club, an organization that works in conjunction with local charities to fight child abuse. Since moving to Tifton Lindy has also served on the Tiftarea YMCA Executive Board, and she was the Coordinator for the Tift Regional Medical Anti-Tobacco Community Outreach Campaign, Chair of the YMCA Father Daughter Dance, and on committee for the Hearts and Diamonds Gala benefiting the Tift Regional Medical Foundation. She is a member of the Florida State ulniversity Varsity Club and FSU Alumni Association.
Her mom, Alice Dorminy, inspired Lindy to become involved with the Alzheimer's Association. Her Mom's devotion to advocating for the elderly struck a cord with Lindy. She lost her father Dr. John H. Dorminy last year to heart disease and knows from all his years as a health professional he too would think this a worthy cause.
Lindy hopes to raise much needed funds for the Alzheimer's Association through the Dancing Stars of South Georgia. She looks forward to bringing the community together for this special eent and thanks everyone involved and everyone that donates!
