Thank you for visiting my page.
I grew up in Belgium but have been living in Whitfield County for the last 26 years. I am married to Sabine and we have four children, Julian, Lawrence, William and Alice. Julian is married to Rachel, they live in Shanghai and are pregnant with a little boy, who will be our first grandchild!
After my college education in Business and Economics, I started my career in the Flooring Industry in 1981 with the Beaulieu Group in Belgium and moved a year later to the UK where I became Managing Director of the UK manufacturing plants.
Ever since I first visited the USA in 1978, I always wanted to be part of this vibrant country, with its CAN-DO attitude and where hard work and entrepreneurship is still respected and rewarded and the American Dream still alive. My opportunity came in 1990 when I moved to Dalton and joined Beaulieu of America where, after climbing the executive ladder, I finished my tenure as President of the Residential Flooring division.
In 2001, I left Beaulieu and started USFloors Inc. The Company grew to become the Industry leader in sustainable flooring, like Cork and bamboo. In 2012 we invented and patented the COREtec Engineered Luxury Vinyl Floor, which revolutionized the Industry and propelled USFloors into a rapid growth. I sold USFloors to Shaw Industries and joined the executive team of this first class organization, where I now function as president of USFloors and Exec.VP Hard Surfaces for the Company.
I am dancing with Dancing Stars of Dalton primarily because I want to support the cause to find a solution for Alzheimer's and to care for those people who are traumatized with this terrible disease. We all know relatives and friends who suffered greatly and passed away after sometimes a devastating and humiliating battle. But I also want to do this because I want to give back to a country and a community which has been great for me and my family. When you’ve had the fortune to realize your “American Dream” it’s only right to look around you and recognize and help the people and the community who provided this opportunity.
I am asking you to support me in this fund raising event, by making a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association, so we can make a difference for those people who need treatment and continue to fund the research into prevention and cure for this disease. I’ve been assured that 100% of the donations from this Dancing Stars of Dalton event will remain in our community and be spent on treatments for those around us we love and live with.
Don’t be bashful, be generous….its tax deductible and there’s no better feeling than being in a position to share some of our blessings for a cause as noble and needed in finding a cure for Alzheimer!
Thank you in advance on behalf of the Alzheimer's Association and the more than 5 million Americans currently diagnosed with this disease!
See you on the 28th of April, I’ll be waiting for you on the dance floor!
