Fundraising Honor Roll

I was born and raised in Chatsworth, GA where I attended Murray County High School and graduated in 2008. I then attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA where I earned a bachelor's of science degree in nursing. I worked as an RN in the ICU and ER for two years before going back to school. I went to PA school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and graduated in 2016. I now work as a Physician Assistant at Dalton Plastic Surgery for Dr. Reginald Sherrill. I am newly married to my wonderful husband Dustin Johnston who is currently in medical school.

I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my family and friends. I love traveling and seeing new places. I enjoy fitness/exercise and learning to cook new and healthy recipes. I am very excited about participating in this event to help an amazing cause and to dance again. I grew up taking dance classes as Performing Arts Unlimited in Chatsworth. I like sports and competing, so this is such a fun way to raise money for something close to my heart.

I’ve had family members and close family friends diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. My grandfather was also diagnosed with another form of dementia. I have seen this terrible disease day in and out being in healthcare, and have seen the devastating effects it has on families. I have seen patients go from happy to terrified in an instant because they suddenly forgot everything around them.

I am dancing to help end this disease that takes so many. I kindly ask for your vote to assist in raising money for Alzheimer's research. I am hoping that by fundraisers like this, the statistics of those diagnosed will start to decrease, instead of the increase we are seeing today and each passing year.
