Fundraising Honor Roll

Hey Everybody,

I was born in Wisconsin and raised between the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the Iron Range of Minnesota.

After high school I headed south to attend the University of Florida.

In love with the warm weather, after school I decided to remain in Florida and relocated to Palm Beach County for 20 years before moving to beautiful Savannah almost 12 years ago.

Raised in the north and moving to Florida as a young adult I became passionate about outdoor winter sports and warm weather activities of almost any kind. I have been involved with the fitness industry for over 30 years.

I have sold fitness products on Cable Shopping Networks, mentored and coached for youth fitness programs and been an Ambassador for the Kids Rock Run for the Savannah Rock’n’Roll Marathon. I have even competed as an American Gladiator for their dinner show in Orlando

I have completed over 20 full marathons (including Boston, New York, Kona, Disney and many others.)  I have run with my Dad, with clients and by myself, and in my younger days I have been known to be rounding mile 18 while talking on my cool 1994 Nokia cell phone.

I have competed in numerous fitness and figure contests including the prestigious Arnold Classic International Invitational.

For 7 years I was a contributing writer for Savannah Morning News’ “Hot n Healthy” fitness column.

Currently I work at the YMCA of Coastal Georgia as a fitness trainer and healthy lifestyle coach and feel blessed to go to work every day doing something I am passionate about - making a positive and healthy difference in the lives of the people I love.

Alzheimer’s can afflict anyone and the impacts go far beyond the individual.  Patients and families alike are devastated by this brutal condition, but I also know that exercise and a healthy lifestyle may be able to help reduce or slow the effects of the disease.  That is one of the reasons that I am so passionate about my work.  As I assist clients weekly to take care of their bodies through balanced diet and exercise, I know that it may also help them in ways that are not immediately apparent.

My goal is to raise as much money as possible toward the cure of Alzheimers, to have fun with wonderful newfound friends, and laugh at myself because - I agree that “Life Begins at the End of your comfort zone.”

I look forward to seeing you there on June 9th for this wonderful Savannah event.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support!
