Fundraising Honor Roll

Jonathan Martin can't dance - at all.  But he does love helping others, and his life has been indelibly influenced by friends - and family - whose lives have been affected by Alzheimer's Disease.  Raising money for that cause makes Jonathan feel like dancing.  Just don't laugh - too much.

When he's not trying to learn how to dance, Jonathan is an attorney with Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP, a national law firm specializing in labor and employment law for management.

Jonathan is a graduate of the Terry School of Business, University of Georgia, (B.B.A. - Banking & Finance, cum laude), and a graduate of the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University, (J.D., magna cum laude), where he served as the administrative editor of the Mercer Law Review.

Prior to being in private practice, Jonathan served as a military lawyer in the Air Force Judge Advocae General (JAG) Corps.  Jonathan currently serves as a JAG in the Georgia Air National Guard.

Jonathan is a contributing co-author to the Mercer Law Review publishing an annual article on Labor & Employment Law for the Annual Survey of Georgia Law and the Annual Survey of the Eleventh Circuit Law, and he is a Chapter Editor of the ABA publication, The Developing Labor Law.  Jonathan has also been recognized as a "Rising Star" in the SuperLawyers Edition of Atlanta Magazine, and he was named one of Georgia Trend Magazine's "40-under-40".

Jonathan served on a number of corporate and non-profit boards, including Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia, the Boy Scouts, the Hay House, Leadership Macon, and the Macon Chamber of Commerce.  He also served on the labor relations committee of the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC.

Jonathan attends Vineville United Methodist Church, where he has served on the Staff Parish Committee, the Administrative Board, and he co-chaired the fundraising efforts for new organ and sanctuary renovation.  He also frequently teaches the Vines Sunday School class and others.

Jonathan's real passion is his family.  He is married to the former Beth Rosenthal of Augusta.  They have two children, a daughter, Harrison, and a son, Tripp, who attend First Presbyterian Day School.  They also have a black lab named Buford.

Although wife and kids are really supportive of his law stuff, and his military and civic activities, their favorite thing is making fun of him because they think he can't dance.  Maybe on May 6th he can prove them wrong!

Donate generously if you want to help him!

If nothing else, Jonathan will entertain you - and you will help change the lives of those whose families are struggling with Alzheimer's Disease!
