Dino Thompson-Sarmiento

CEO, Blue Flame Resources and Spotted Blue Agency

Dino Thompson-Sarmiento has been helping clients meet their business goals through innovative marketing programs for more than 20 years.  As the principal of Blue Flame Resources, he has built expertise in both total market and multicultural public relations, including extensive work with the Latino, African American and LGBT communities.  His experience spans media relations, special events, television production and paid and public service advertising development, for which he leverages his Emmy-award winning team.

Keeping up with the ever changing landscape of Atlanta, Dino expanded his work into community wellness by opening up Spotted Blue Agency (SBA) in 2014. SBA focuses on community enrichment through the arts, sports and education.

Outside of the office, Dino lends his talents to a number of organizations and causes for which he has a passion.  He finds particular fulfillment in bringing together people and communities to expand awareness and address important societal issues.  He served as a senior advisor for the GLAAD Leadership Council in Atlanta for ten years and recently wrapped up four years of service on the board of Positive Impact, which provides mental health counseling to underserved populations.  He is also a current board member of Bert’s Big Adventure. Dino founded F.O.O.D (Feeding Others Opens Doors), a true grassroots organization that delivers food and supplies to individuals and families struggling with homelessness and/or HIV and AIDS.

In addition, Dino is senior writer at FENUXE Magazine, where he has penned exclusive celebrity interviews and a popular food column.  A native Spanish speaker, Dino is an active supporter of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Latin American Association, Plaza Fiesta, INROADS, AID Atlanta, and Angels Among Us.

Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. My maternal grandmother, Teodolinda Sarmiento,  turns 100 years old in 2017 and I am doing this dance for her and in memory of my two paternal aunts, aunt Grace and aunt Edna who died with Alazheimers. I am also honoring all the wonderful caretakers who have given of themselves unselfishly to help ease the challenges of those affected including my dear mother who has devoted her life to care for my grandmother.

I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.

Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
