Lee Roquemore Burton, born in Lakeland, Georgia as the younger sister to four rambunctious brothers, has always been the type to pursue any of her life's adventures to the fullest extent. Lee's goal is to take her drive, passion, and heart for others to bring as much money and awareness as possible to a disease that has affected so many of her family and friends.
Lee found an interest in both golf and horses from a very early age, and has been fortunate enough to take both hobbies to the highest level. As a scratch golfer for most of her life, Lee has been awarded "Georgia Female Player of the Year" multiple times as well as holding many prominent board positions, including Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Georgia Golf Hall of Fame, and President of the Georgia Women's Golf Association. It didn't hurt that Lee spent most of her adult life at the helm of her family golf business, Canongate Golf Clubs (an afffiliate of Patten Seed Company), as she managed ten golf clubs and hundreds of employees in the Atlanta area.
Lee was fortunate enough to retire in 2004 after the sale of the golf courses, which led her to be able to pursue her other life passion - horses. Lee has taken her love of riding all the way to the same level ridden in the Olympics - Grand Prix dressage, and she continues to compete nationally, including a top ten finish at the National Championships in 2016.
Lee splits her time between her home on St. Simons Island, Georgia, her horse farm on a vineyard in Tyron, North Carolina, spending time with her daughter and granddaughter in Savannah, and visiting with fellow horse lovers in Florida. Lee is thrilled to explore her newest hobby of ballroom dancing by joining YOU for Dancing Stars of Coastal Georgia!
