Fundraising Honor Roll

Hi, my name is Casey Mathis Zier and I am one of the dancers for this years Dancing Stars of Augusta Competition.

I was born in Augusta, GA and grew up in North Augusta, SC.  I lived there until I graduated highschool when I moved to Charleston, SC for college.  I did not think I would ever move back to North Augusta but, here I am, back in North Augusta and loving it!  I am married to Patrick Zier, have a beautiful daughter, Raelynn, my parents are Darrow and Lynn Mathis, I have two older Brothers, Jacob Mathis and Joel Mathis.

I am the Marketing Director for Burroughs Elijah Law Firm.  We are an Estate Planning and Elder Law Firm with locations in Augusta, GA, Aiken, SC and Greenville, SC.  Our Attorneys are Daniel Burroughs, Brandon Elijah and Katherine Willett.  Our entire firm is very passionate about helping people and especially families that are dealing with Alzheimers.

For fun I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading and trying new restaurants!

My only dance experience was earlier in life.  I took social here in Augusta, GA in 7th and 8th grade and have only danced in social settings since.

I am dancing this year in loving memory of my Grandmother, Janie Harkins.  My Grandmother was diagnosed with alzheimer's several years ago and it has broken my heart watching her forget things that have built her life and to slowly lose her ability to communicate with us.  She lost her life to Alzheimers in early March, 2017.

I am also dancing because of what I see day in and day out at Burroughs Elijah Law Firm.  We work with so many families that are dealing with a family member who has alzheimer's and to see the pain and heart ache that it causes so many people just makes me want to work even harder to raise awareness and funds for research.

I would sincerely appreciate any support in this cause.

Thank you!
