Full Donor ListMy grandmother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's for more than 5 years now. I have been her caregiver since August 2008. I went all the way to Puerto Rico to save her. She had broken her hip. I wasn't told for two months while others were stealing from her.
Her living conditions broke my heart.
And as her eldest and only granddaughter/ next of kin, I was inclined to just bring her home with me.
It has been a major change in the life of my family. I still have to remind her that my mother passed away. She often calls me by my mother's name.
I remind myself everyday, that no matter what, I am here for her.
Family doesn't think about it, they just do it!
Please support Alzheimer's awareness! Please help find a cure. Even if it is too late for my grandma, save another one from this sad disease.
