This is my 2nd year to coach in the Blondes Vs Brunettes Powder Puff event for the Alzheimer's Association and I am glad to be a part of such a impactful cause that hits close to home for me.
Alziemer's/Dementia has hit my family more than once and most recently, my grandmother. About 3 years ago, my "Nana" began developing dementia and within a very short period of time, she got to the point of not being able to recognize me or any of my family members at all or even speak.
She was the funniest, most lovable persons I have ever had the pleasure to be around and becuase of this disease, I no longer get to enjoy those types of moments with her. Since our last season of BvB, my Nana has passed away.
The goal here is to surpass last year’s funds raised of $600k which will go towards research to help find a cure for this disease so that no one has to see their loved ones lose their wonderful personalities and struggle through the difficult times this disease can bring.
I am sincerely greatful for your support!!
Women are at the epicenter of the Alzheimer’s epidemic. Nearly two-thirds of the Americans living with Alzheimer’s – and more than 60 percent of Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers – are women. It’s time to take action by taking the field!
Please support my participation in RivALZ, a flag football game and fundraising competition to help end Alzheimer’s. We may be opponents on the field, but when it comes to Alzheimer’s, we’re all on the same side. This is a disease that must be defeated and we need your help to do it. Your donation will advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Thank you for helping us tackle this disease – win or lose, our true goal is a world without Alzheimer’s!
To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
