MAKE THE MEMORIES LAST
Even though I don't physically play in the game and yes I miss the game I would be lying if I said didn't I am still very passionate about BVB but not as passionate as I am for Ending Alzheimers.
I played for my family but the main reason I started this journey was for my father in law Bob who had Alzheimer's. Yes I said had. Bob passed away with his family by his side at his lake home (the home that he built with his own two hands and didn't even recall doing it) one month before the BVB football game in 2014 . As much as we knew it was coming and we tried to prepare and we knew it was for the best - the ache is still there.
Sophia my daughter still talks about Grandpa and about his fishing expeditions and Grandpa's house that he built and all the special things he did with a gleam in her eye but then at the end says
" he forgot his memory and me and died becuase of Alzheimers." NO Child should have to experience that especially at such a young age.
I have seen the devastating affects Alzheimers disease has on people and their families - who are usually the caregivers. Because of this I believe in research, prevention, cures and caring for people with Alzheimer's. NO ONE deserves to watch their loved one slowly slip away like a dimmer on a light bulb.
Please remember - It is not just an elderly disease anymore. Let’s raise awareness to END ALZHEIMERS!
We will not fumble we will continue to rumble until there is a world without Alzheimer’s. Thank you for your continued support. Together we will beat Alzheimer's!
