Get ready to rumble! Thank you for checking out my personal page and for helping me fight Alzheimer's! My name is Ashley Copelan and I grew up in Columbus, Georgia. Mercer University brought me to Macon, where I met my sweet husband, Dean. We are so proud of our two children-Elizabeth (19) and Chan (17). All four of us have actually danced in the "Dancing Stars of Central Georgia" event for Alzheimer's, and my brother and five cousins have danced in Columbus. Three of my grandparents have suffered with this, so it is my mission to do my part to help eradicate it! It is truly a passion for our entire family.
When I learned there was another way to get involved, I jumped at the chance! Besides, it's nice to feel 18 again while throwing a football and pulling flags in the exact place I did it over two decades ago (go Bears)! I have now replaced my cleats with my whistle and clipboard and I will be coaching the brunettes. I can't wait to work with these wonderful ladies and WE WILL DEFEAT ALZHEIMER'S!!!
I thank Mercer University for supporting our cause and I thank the Alzheimer's Association and its people for everything they do. Please consider supporting me (again!) in my very personal fight against this disease! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance reasearch to discover methods of prevention, treatment and ultimately, a cure of Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in commmunities nationwide.
Did you know...Alzheimer’s disease is the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death? An estimated 5.4 million Americans are living with the disease and nearly 15 million are acting as caregivers. It’s time to take action and change the course of this epidemic!
Come see us as we take the field October 14th at Mercer University to tackle Alzheimer's! Win or lose, our real goal is to live in a world without Alzheimer's!! THANK YOU!
