As many of you know, Alzheimer’s hits close to home. My Grandma Ruth Doyle has been living with this disease for 11 years. From the time I was a child, she was always so happy, made the most amazing stuffing at Thanksgiving and spent precious time with her family. It’s hard to see how this disease takes hold of your loved one. Losing all ability to speak, cook meals like she used to and just complete the simple day to day tasks that we all take for granted. Even through all this, her sweet smile and laugh are the little pieces of her that are still alive. Participating in this game and fundraising for this event is my way of raising awareness to get the word out so that one day there will be a cure.
This year I am hoping to personally raise $3,000 for the cause from now until November but I can't do it alone.
RivALZ is a nationwide women’s flag football league crated to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. I ask for your support to help fulfill my personal fundraising goal. Please donate whatever you can to help my grandmother and others like her.
Thank you in advance for your generosity- together win or lose, our true goal is a world without Alzheimer’s!
I PLAY FOR THE CURE.
