Did you know almost 2/3rd of Americans with Alzheimer's are women?
Did you know Alzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States?
Did you know nearly 6 million Americans are suffering from Alzheimer's in 2018? This includes roughly 200,000 individuals younger than age 65.
Oof. I don't know about you, but as a female who has Alzheimer's running in her family, I do not like these statistics.
That is why I am participating in RivALZ, a charity organization that supports the Alzheimer's Association. I want to be a part of supporting the individuals and their families who are currently suffering from the disease, as well as raise money for continued research of the condition.
RivALZ is a charity flag football game that was originally held in DC in 2005. Two sisters started the league, Blondes versus Brunettes, and since that time the group has raised over $1 million dollars in support of this cause!
After succesfully launching in DC, they opened a new chapter in Texas, which makes this organization a perfect fit for me for so many reasons :)
I would love your support as I play to raise this fall and beat the brunettes!
To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
