I'm thrilled to be back with Team Bru for my second year, and to be part of the BvB executive team for 2017!
I joined Team Bru in 2016 because raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association is a cause that is deeply personal for me, as I lost my Grandma Edith to the Alzheimer's disease in 2002. Even though I was too young to fully understand what having the Alzheimer’s disease meant, I’ll never forget the feeling of visiting my grandmother (someone who helped raise me) and having to re-introduce myself – because to my Grandma Edith, I was a stranger due to this disease. No one deserves to be a stranger to a loved one, and that's why I look forward to partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association to help #tackleALZ.
As most of you know, I had the best time participating in the game to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association National Chapter last year. But many of you may not know that I suffered a high-grade ACL tear during the game, requiring surgery and preventing me from playing in the game this year (which I am very, very bummed about). So in order to make the best out of a less than ideal situation in my second year, I'm raising $2,600 for the Alzheimer's Association, nearly doubling the amount I raised last year.
I joined Team Brunette to play and raise funds in honor of my Grandma, and I hope you’ll consider honoring her with a donation too. A $25 donation gains you a ticket to the game in November, and all donations are 100% tax-deductible.
Thank you in advance for your donation!
Alzheimer's Association Blondes vs. Brunettes is a volunteer-driven event that engages young professionals in friendly but fierce flag football games around the country. As part of the competition, teams are organized around this age old rivalry to inspire fundraising, awareness and action in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
Women are at the epicenter of the Alzheimer’s epidemic. Nearly two-thirds of the Americans living with Alzheimer’s – and more than 60 percent of Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers – are women. It’s time to take action by taking the field!
Please support my participation in RivALZ, a flag football game and fundraising competition to help end Alzheimer’s. We may be opponents on the field, but when it comes to Alzheimer’s, we’re all on the same side. This is a disease that must be defeated and we need your help to do it. Your donation will advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Thank you for helping us tackle this disease – win or lose, our true goal is a world without Alzheimer’s!
