My Personal Fundraising Page - Help Fund a Cure for Alzheimer's
Friends and Family members,
In 2016, I embraced a challenge from a friend to participate in A Ride to Remember. That summer I rode my bike 252 miles in 3 days from Greenville to Charleston all for this great cause. 2018 will be my 3rd year participating in A Ride to Remember. Once again, I am hoping you will support the Alzheimer's Association in finding a cure.
In 2012, my mother, Shirley Hodges was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. In 2017, my mother's sister was also diagnosed. This cruel disease runs in the family as my grandfather had dementia and had 3 sisters with Alzheimer's. In 2013, my mother moved to Greenville, SC to reside in an Assisted Living. She is 83 and doing well considering the diagnosis. As her daughter, it can be challenging watching your mother become so forgetful. God continues to give me patience.
By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 5.5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
