Kathy Doyle - Why I jump.
Twelve years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, my mother-in-law passed last year. Her sister is now living with Alzheimer’s.
Although, it always seems like a good idea to join the SubZero Heros jump when it’s still 50 degrees out, there are many reasons I keep doing this. The first is that my husband and I have first-hand experience with this devastating disease and how life-changing it is to a family in so many ways. So, it’s important to my family to find a cure, and, unfortunately, it’s becoming important to others who are important to us. It’s also a way of thanking those who have supported us throughout. The SubZero Hero jump has been a day of shedding the heaviness of the disease and share our small successes with others who have experienced Alzheimer’s by sharing a big belly laugh after a big splash. It’s just so much fun and a needed break. Please support Doyle Divers with a donation if you can, but, most importantly please join us on February 9th for a day of fun and lots of laughs. We look forward to seeing you there!
