My Personal Fundraising Page
For the third year, Peter and I are teaming up to raise funds to support the Alzheimer's Association. We are committed to riding a Metric Century - that is 62 miles. And we need your help.
As most of you know, my mother, Nancy succumbed to Alzheimers in September, a week shy of her 89th birthday. By the time she died, she didn't really know I was her daughter, Peter was her son-in-law, or that David and Justin were her grandsons, but she knew we were nice people who visited her and would never let anything bad happen.
She died being cared for by loving providers at her Assisted Living community here in Arlington surrounded by family, and the very day after she died, Peter and I participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's where for the first time, we first identified ourselves as "survivors" rather than "family" or "caregivers".
This year when we take off on our ride, we will mark Nancy's death with renewed commitment to doing everything we can to raise funds to end this awful disease. That's where you come in.
You have been a strong and generous donor in the past and we need you now more than ever. We will ride the miles with your love and support carrying us along.
With warm regards, love, and a sincere hope that some day, we can see the back end of this awful disease.......
