My Personal Fundraising Page
By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease. Alzheimer’s is the only leading cause of death that cannot be prevented, slowed or cured, and leading independent researchers have determined it has become the nation’s most expensive disease, with costs for this year alone projected to be $259 billion. In 2016, for every $100 the U.S. government spent on Alzheimer’s research it spent $16,000 in Medicare and Medicaid costs caring for individuals living with this fatal disease.
On June 22, 2019 I will be riding for the 9th year to help raise money to support the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association of MA/NH. For the 9th year I have committed to riding 100km (62 miles). As many of you know this is personal for me. Yes, I have a loved one who is suffering from this disease and I have seen how their loved ones have also been affected by it. Over the past 9 years I have been lucky enough (and had good support from friends and family) to have raised $37, 232.00. I would like to raise enough to get to $45,000.00 this year so that means I have set my true goal at $7,768.00. Please consider supporting me in this ride. I know that we will not find a cure today but I ride for tomorrow and to bring hope to the indiviudals and families taht will be affected by his horrific disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
