Dear Family and Friends,
We are going the distance with the Alzheimer’s Association ALZ Stars®, a program to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Association.
In late 2014 Ted was diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer’s. Ted is a wonderful husband, dad, papa, grandpa, brother, cousin, friend. He has 6 children, 12 grandchildren and has been married to, the equally wonderful, Sonni for 54 years. Ted served in the U.S. Army, is a retired Sheet Metal worker. He was very active with little league baseball with his sons, band parents/field crew with his daughters and is currently enjoying being a spectator at all of his grandchildren’s various sports/activities.
During 2017, one or more of our ALZ Stars® team ”Ted’s Princesses”; Cathy Bednarek, Amanda Nethero and Lorren Bednarek will participate in:
• Walt Disney World Half Marathon
• Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge
• Glass Slipper Challenge Weekend
• Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon
• Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon
• Disneyland Tinker Bell Half Marathon
• Chicago Marathon
Walt Disney World holds a special place in our hearts, so it is only fitting we have chosen runDisney events to honor a man who has been instrumental in all our lives. We have taken several family trips to Disney and share many memories together of this magical place. Our very first trip was during the summer of 1975!
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. We know this is going to be a long and harrowing journey.
Ted’s Princesses need your support to do our part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research to discover methods of prevention, treatment and ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer’s. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you in advance for your generosity – together, we can outrace Alzheimer’s disease.
With love and gratitude,
Cathy, Amanda & Lorren
