District - Forum - District Program Signup

Thank you for signing up to attend this year's exciting Advocacy Forum in Washington, DC.  You join hundreds of advocates from around the country who are dedicated to making Alzheimer's disease a national priority. Now, more than ever, your help is needed to build momentum for our federal legislative priorities on Capitol Hill and make this Advocacy Forum a great success.

The District-Forum-District (DFD) program is an Association program designed to strengthen your impact as an advocate and amplify your voice in Congress.  The program has three essential activities.  First, before coming to Washington, DC for the Advocacy Forum, you will work with your local Alzheimer’s Association chapter staff to set up a meeting with your own member of Congress or their staff in the district office.  This will give you an opportunity to build a relationship with your congressman’s district staff who live in your community.  This is an excellent time to introduce yourself as an Alzheimer’s advocate and educate congressional staff about the Advocacy Forum as well as practice sharing your story of why you’re and Alzheimer’s advocate.

Then, during the Advocacy Forum, you’ll meet with your member of Congress and their key policy staff in Washington, DC. You’ll march on Capitol Hill with hundreds of other passionate advocates and lend your voice in the fight against Alzheimer’s at a critical time.

Finally, once you return home, you’ll work again with local Association chapter to meet with your congressman or their district staff.  Here you can follow up with the congressman’s office on the priorities discussed in Washington, DC and hold your member of Congress accountable in creating a world without Alzheimer’s.

These visits will help grow our movement and TRIPLE the power of your advocacy efforts!

Please fill out this simple registration form and get started in this exciting new program.

Once registered, you will receive confirmation of your participation in the DFD program and your local Association chapter staff will be in contact with you to set up your first DFD meeting. Advocates who participate in the pre-Forum district meeting will be given special recognition during the Advocacy Forum in Washington, DC.

We hope you will join us in the first year of this program and we look forward to seeing you at the Alzheimer’s Association Advocacy Forum.
