Become an Alzheimer’s Association Ambassador!

A major part of the our mission is advancing public policies that will help find a cure and care for the people and families facing an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, and the leaders in this quest are not just scientists and fundraisers. By making the voices of our community heard by officials in Washington D.C., in one hour per month or less, Alzheimer’s Association volunteer Ambassadors play a critical role in bringing our vision of a World Without Alzheimer’s® closer to reality.

Ambassadors are grassroots volunteers who commit to working for at least one year as a member of a team, serving as the main points of in-district contact for Illinois’ congressional delegation. They work directly with their member of Congress and his/her staff to advance Alzheimer’s Association federal legislative goals. Absolutely no experience is necessary, and we will work with you to customize a volunteer plan that fits your schedule and interests.

If you are ready to do any of the following, you are ready to join the Alzheimer’s Association Ambassador team:

  • Visit a legislative office with Alzheimer’s Association staff members and team members
  • Attend a town hall meeting with Alzheimer’s Association staff members and team members
  • Tweet
  • Help us plan a local event and work with Alzheimer’s Association staff to invite your Congressman
  • Send letters to the editors of local newspapers (we can help with the writing!).
