Workplace Giving Campaigns

The Chapter is a proud member of Community Health Charities of Virginia. Show your support during your workplace giving campaign by choosing the Southeastern Virginia Chapter's agency code #6002 or code #13194 depending on the campaign. Or if you prefer to designate your gift to our national organization, look for the Alzheimer’s Association (code #11234) without the local chapter designation in the Combined Federal Campaign. By double-checking the name you are ensuring that your gift is being directed to exactly where you want it to go. You can also support our chapter through your local United Way campaign! Many local United Ways support Donor Choice (write-in option) in their general workplace campaigns. All you have to do is simply write in: Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter. If you have any questions about Donor Choice, please call the chapter (800.272.3900) or your nearest United Way.

Chicken Soup for the Soul
Submit your story for Chicken Soup for the Soul

 Submissions are due Oct. 15.

We are pleased to announce that the Alzheimer’s Association® is working with Chicken Soup for the Soul to make a very special and important book: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Living with Alzheimer’s & Other Dementias. And we invite you to submit a story!

Living with Alzheimer’s or caring for someone with the disease is life changing. If you are facing Alzheimer’s or another dementia, you have a unique opportunity to share your story and turn your experience into inspiration for others confronting the disease.

Your personal perspective as an individual living with the disease, a caregiver or an affected friend or family member will provide practical advice, encouragement, insight and support to readers. Your words will inspire and comfort others going through similar experiences and let them know that they are not alone.

To learn more, including details on submission and guidelines for story length, please visit www.chickensoup.com

During the submission process, authors should note if they have an affiliation with a specific Association chapter in the "Additional Comments" box. Chicken Soup will make a $200 donation for each story that is accepted where the author identifies a chapter so make sure you type in Alzheimer's Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter!
