Bill Gates: The newest Champion in the fight against Alzheimer's disease
Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates has announced that he's joining the fight against Alzheimer's by investing $100 million: $50 million personally now and $50 million later from his foundation for start-up efforts dedicated to research. Gates said his family has a history of Alzheimer's. The Alzheimer's Association welcomes Gates and applauds his efforts to seek an end to this devastating disease.

Man with early-onset Alzheimer's says he still lives a good life
In 2010 at age 60, Alexander "Sandy" Halperin, a former dentist and Harvard assistant professor, father of two and grandfather of three, was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. A former Alzheimer's Association National Early-Stage Advisor, Halperin continues to live his best life and fight the stigma that may come with an Alzheimer's diagnosis.

"The Young and the Restless" to feature Alzheimer's storyline
CBS daytime drama "The Young and the Restless" is featuring an upcoming storyline about Alzheimer's disease. Many of the cast and crew have been impacted by Alzheimer's, including executive producer and head writer Mal Young, who lost his mother to the disease, and participated in this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's®.
