Thank you for lending your VOICE! |
The
first ever National Alzheimer's Plan was released this week by the
Administration with the goal of preventing & effectively
treating Alzheimer's by 2025. Your efforts got us
here. You signed the petition, advocated on Capitol Hill & told
elected officials that Alzheimer's couldn't wait. Your voices were
heard. But our work is not done. The simple truth is that the National Alzheimer's Plan needs sufficient, dedicated funding to be effective. It's now up to Congress to decide whether this plan will mark the turning point in our nation's fight against this devastating disease. Use your voice. Ask your member of Congress to support the National Alzheimer's Plan with the resources necessary to change the trajectory of the disease. Alzheimer's will cost the nation an estimated $200 billion in 2012. If we do nothing, it will soar to $1.1 trillion by mid-century!
Become an advocate and use your voice! View pictures of our staff and advocates in Washington, D.C. at the April Alzheimer's Association Advocacy Forum.

Growing Alzheimer’s awareness in the
Asian community
Alzheimer’s
disease is a growing concern within the Asian/Pacific Islander
community. Barriers such as cultural beliefs and language can delay or
prevent early diagnosis and treatment. In
order to accommodate a growing number of Asian-Americans searching for basic information about Alzheimer’s
disease and caregiving, the Alzheimer’s Association has launched a new website in May with content in
Chinese (traditional), Korean, Vietnamese and Japanese.
