Join teams from around the world on June 21, The Longest DayŽ, to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's disease with a day of activity. Select an activity you love, from swing dancing to swimming, and make an impact by raising funds and awareness to advance the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Register by June 11 to receive your participant kit in time for The Longest Day.

Antidepressant may help reduce beta-amyloid production
A common antidepressant, citalopram (sold as Celexa), may cut production of beta-amyloid, a protein considered a chief suspect in the development of Alzheimer’s, a new study shows. Researchers caution that the study, performed on mice and healthy young people, not seniors or people with Alzheimer's, is preliminary and that no one should begin taking the drug to combat the disease.
