Please mark your calendar for the seminars coming up:

We are offering a variety of presentations over the next several months at the below locations, information presented includes the basics of the disease, the 10 Warning Signs, Caregiving & the Alzheimer's Association services. Anyone is welcome to come learn more about these topics. Brown bag your lunch or dinner and come on out.

Wednesday, September 25th, 6:30 p.m. @ Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Bellevue, TN- The Basics (meal can be purchased prior to event)

Early Stage Services

Early stage social programs are a great way for those in the early stages of Alzheimer's/dementia and their caregivers to socialize and reminisce.  Groups and families are both welcome. We can assist with transportation costs and have volunteers to help with groups. Education Conferences & Events

REGISTER NOW: Family Caregiver Conference for 2013 will be on Friday, September 27th at First Baptist Nashville (flyer below).

Also Brain Health A-Z, Health Expo in Clarksville August 17th (flyer below). Be on the lookout for a caregiver appreciation event in Rutherford County in November.  Sponsorship available for all 3 events, contact Tiffany for more information.

We are helping spread the word: Registration is now open for the 2013 Geriatric Update for professionals put on by the Meharry Geratric Education Center. The Conference, including continuing education credit, is Saturday, September 28th. ** We have over 31 support groups in the Middle TN area. Two of which are for those in the early stages of Alzheimer's/dementia. Please go to alz.org/altn or email Tcloud-mann@alz.org for a list of groups. 

Welcome new groups, Maple Hill Church of Christ in Lebanon, TN. It is facilitated by Tammye Whitaker & they meet the second Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. There is also a new group at the Mt. Juliet Senior Center in Mt. Juliet, TN. It is facilitated by Kathy Leedy & they meet the fourth Friday of the month at 10 a.m.. 

** Trial Match is the Alzheimer's Association free matching service for healthy volunteers and those with the disease to get matched with pharmacological and non-pharmacological studies in their area. We know that finding a cure greatly depends on participants for these types of studies. Please visit www.alz.org/trialmatch to sign up.
