Women are hit especially hard by Alzheimer’s
The Alzheimer’s Association’s new 2014 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report shows women have a 1 in 6 chance of developing Alzheimer’s, while men have a 1 in 11 chance. Not only are 3.2 million women living with Alzheimer’s, women are also at the epicenter of caregiving for someone with the disease.

"A Night at Sardi’s" raises funds to support the Alzheimer’s Association
The star-studded 22nd annual Alzheimer's Association "A Night at Sardi’s" benefit is taking place tonight. The Abe Burrows Entertainment Award will be presented to the cast of the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy “The Big Bang Theory,” and Grammy Award-winning country music star Glen Campbell, who has Alzheimer’s, and his family will be the recipients of the inaugural Glen Campbell Courage Award. "A Night at Sardi’s" has raised more than $23 million in support of the Alzheimer’s Association mission to provide critical Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

What does someone with Alzheimer’s look like?
During a visit to a doctor, Cynthia Guzman, a member of the Alzheimer’s Association National Early-Stage Advisory Group, was told, "You sure don’t look like you have Alzheimer’s." Guzman writes on our blog: "What should I look like? Should I be unresponsive to my surroundings and bed-bound in a nursing home? Should I be incoherent and confused about where I am?"
