We are excited to let you know about a change in our chapter's e-newsletter. Beginning March 19, the updated format will include the most up-to-date information from both our national organization and our chapterThese weekly 'alzheimer's & dementia e-news' will replace the two monthly e-news you currently receive from our chapter - Chapter Updates during the first week of the month and Caring for the Caregiver later in the month

You will receive this updated e-news each Wednesday, and it will showcase only 6 top stories:
  • Top 3 things you need to know about national initiativesthe latest advances in Alzheimer's care, treatments, and research as well as upcoming nation-wide events.
  • Top 3 things you need to know about what is happening in our chapterprograms, support groups, services, and events in your community as well as ways you can get involved.

Michigan Alzheimer's Advocacy Day

At the Michigan Alzheimer's Advocacy Day you will be empowered to share your story with your State Representative and Senator and ask for their support through state policies which will assist families faced with this devastating disease. 

The Advocacy Day Agenda includes the following activities:

8:30 – 9:30 AM | Legislative Breakfast: Enjoy a continental breakfast while chatting with your Senator and Representative about how you have been affected by Alzheimer's disease and the importance of the Alzheimer's Association in achieving a world without Alzheimer's disease. 

9:30 -10:00 AM | Advocacy 101: How to be a Powerful Voice: Hear a presentation about how you can turn your story and personal experiences into a moving experience that can influence public policy and help others faced with Alzheimer's.

10:00 – 11:00 AM | Visit your Representative and Senator: We will schedule a visit for you with your State Senator and Representative. This is a great time to ask thank them for their previous support of the Alzheimer's Association and ask for their continued support. 

11:00 – 11:30 AM | Tribute Presentation: Tributes will be presented by state legislators to 1-2 outstanding groups or partners that are making a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. 

11:30 AM | Complete your evaluation form

11:30 AM - 1:00 PM | Luncheon: Join the Young Professional Alzheimer's Advocates of Lansing for a free luncheon, sponsored by Fraser Trebilcock.  Lunch will be held in the Boji Tower across from the Capitol Building on the 22nd floor.
