Everyday is Christmas

Everyday is Christmas

when I was little we never had the money for Christmas. My family was ripe with disaster, too many to print, as I look back I know the love we shared was more important, yet one Christmas stands out above the others.

We had just bought a new house and it was agreed upon that it was going to be everyones present stockings included. this was when I was 15, I am a proud 47 and still get a stocking, anyway, on a hot june day my dad took us for ice cream, a very rare treat since dad didn't do ANYTHING on his days off.

When we got home we had a winding driveway and as we passed the last curve of the drive ,there stood 4 ten-speed bikes each with a stoking attached. It took them 6 months to get the bikes and I think we all still have them. Wouldn't you know i that my dad would end up with dimentia/alz. and not even be allowed to join any of the festivities because it now upsets his routine.

If you have an elderly relative 30+ keep them close, noone knows when this terrible disease hits. I miss my dad, even though he was cantankerous (best word) all my life I still wish he could at least recognize me,not the friends he had that I take up to see him, I guess for him though everyday is Christmas, so there's one bright spot. Thank-you there will be 3 more different ones from my sisters and brother to come.
