The "Glue"

My name is Randi Hudgins, my story...oh boy where do I start? Well it seems that there is always one person in everyone's life that you can say is "The Glue", meaning the person that holds all the pieces together. There are many aspects of the glue that we just don't think about too often. The combining agent, the color, the durability and length of time it will last and most of off the brand of glue we use.
My grandfather was "The Glue" in our family! He was the strongest kind out there. He was made of strength, honor and morals and values that are hard to come by these days with anyone.
His Combining agent- LOVE was very deep for all his children, and grandchildren, and great grand children.
His Color- BRILLIANT White, he was so smart, very resepectful and had wit like a young wipper snapper even at the age of 81! He could tell me anything I wanted to know and even make me feel as a little girl like I did so many years ago curled up on his lap just listing to his stories of when he worked the fields, and a police officer.
The Durability of long lasting GLUE....well since he has been gone for over a year now, his legacy lives on...so I would take that as LONG LASTING and dependable Glue!
Now to the Brand of Glue, Elmer's...as we all know is a famous glue product. Well I would consider my Papa as an elite brand of glue like Elmer's. He was around for many years, never went out of style and was a household name in our family. He was with me growing up, he stuck through tough times when our family couldn't put the piece in the right place...you always have a few seconds before the piece of paper sticks to be able to move it a little...wiggle room as I call it. So without Elmer's glue there could be no wiggle room, as you know it doesn't set instantly. He provided us with a little wiggle room, not much but just enough to get it in the right spot!
So, with all that being said...it seems to be odd to have someone be called "The Glue" but if you think about it....It's not a bad thing! I sure do miss him but he helped create a lot of memories and still every now and then when I see my son have his arts and crafts out and I see that glue bottle...I just smile and look up high and am thankful I can share his legacy with my son!
